Nikolas and I (well…Nikolas provided mostly moral support and jigsaw puzzle dust) made this today for a late Father’s Day treat for SB. It got a thumbs-down from Nikolas, who likes his chocolate cake cakey, without any fancy additions except for perhaps chocolate frosting. Thumbs-up from the adults in the house. It’s worth making a lime-only shopping trip for!
I low-carbed it up a little more by using Sukrin melis (powdered Sukrin, granulated Sukrin does NOT work very well here, as I found out the first time I made this) instead of sugar in both the cake and the Margarita Cream. If you like a dreamy mixture of chocolate and citrus, try this recipe.
